Martingale Collar
fitting

Adjusting your Martingale collar.

Here are a couple of instructions on how to adjust your collar correctly. If your collar is not adjusted correctly then it will not work as a slip collar.

Pic 1: Adjust your collar to the largest size first, like below.

Pic 2 and 3: If your collar looks like this than you have adjusted your collar to the smallest size. Move the adjuster the other way until it looks like the picture above.

Pic 4: When you place your collar on your dog, with the lead attached, it should sit at the top of their neck just behind their ears. Adjust your collar until there is at least a half an inch gap between the dee rings when you pull up on the lead (there should be no part of the collar between the dee rings except the thinner webbing, like below or picture 1). If there is no gap then tighten it until there is. When you relax the lead the webbing at the back will release the tension. This adjustment should be checked on a regular basis.

All martingale collars should only be worn when walking and should not be left on at all times. Collars can be placed in the washing machine on a gentle wash and in a laundry bag. Any problems or concerns, please message me.
